AMOUNT: The award amount is $5,000 per scholarship recipient. The scholarships may be renewable and needs to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies directly related to college expenses.

DESCRIPTION: The HITEC Foundation has established a scholarship program for Hispanic students to obtain a college degree in technology.

Acceptable Technology Majors/*But Not Limited To: Computer Analysis, Computer Hardware Engineer, Computer Software Engineer, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Database Administration, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Telecommunications, Computer Systems Networking, Networking Engineering, Systems Engineer, Web Development, Network Management, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Intelligence, Data Science-Statistics, Cognitive Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering-Robotics, Applied Science of Mathematics, and Statistics

*The HITEC Foundation realizes that some colleges and universities have different names for technology related degrees. If you don’t see a degree listed, please send an email to the HITEC Foundation with the name of the degree and college. We will let you know if it is an acceptable major within 48 hours of submission.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, and recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer or community leader. The selection of the scholarship recipients is made by the HITEC Foundation. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Applicants will be notified within 60 days.

Recipients are required to complete an application, submit autobiography, resume, official transcripts, one letter of recommendation, thank you letter, budget and receipts of how the scholarship funds were utilized, and other documents may be required. The scholarship recipients may be asked to communicate with sponsors and attend events. The HITEC Foundation needs to be notified of any changes to contact information within two weeks after the changes have occurred.
