DESCRIPTION: Scholarship recipients are selected based on community service, academic achievement, and original essays. The Scholarship Committee has an objective, point-based system for rating application packets. Letters of Recommendation factor into the selection process when final scores in a specific category are close.
The deadline to complete applications and to submit all supporting materials is Friday, April 30, 2021.
All application materials must be received or postmarked by the application deadline.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must complete the appropriate online application. The link is provided near the bottom of this page.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must provide information regarding their community service activities.
Applicants must provide 2 letters of recommendation from an academic adviser or teacher/professor showcasing the applicant's commitment to academic achievement; and/or a community service partner or employer demonstrating the applicant's leadership and commitment to public service. Letters of recommendation may be uploaded by the applicant.
Applicants must submit a current resume.
Applicants must submit a typed personal statement, double-spaced in at least an 11-pt font, that does not exceed one page. Your personal statement should tell us about your background, community service activities, why you have chosen your field of study, and your career goals.
Applicants must answer this Essay Question in 500-700 words using at least an 11-point font: "'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use the change the world' (Nelson Mandela). Describe a change you would like to make in the world. Tell us about how you would plan to make that change, and what obstacles you might encounter along the way."
Sealed/Official transcripts postmarked or received electronically no later than April 30, 2021.
Proof of enrollment, with a Fall Schedule, will be required prior to the issuance of scholarship awards.
SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTIONS
Undergraduate Scholarship ($1000 award)
This award will be offered to a student currently enrolled or committed to enroll in a 4-year, accredited college or university who will continue to be enrolled in Fall 2021.
HBCU4Life: Incoming Freshmen and Continuing HBCU Students ($1000 award)
This award will be offered to a student currently enrolled or committed to be enrolled in a 4-year, accredited HBCU who will continue their enrollment in Fall 2021.
Graduate/ Professional Scholarship ($1000 award)
This award will be offered to a student currently enrolled or committed to be enrolled in an accredited Graduate or Professional college or university who will continue in Fall 2021.
Dr. Lacey Wyatt Memorial Scholarship ($2500 award)
This award will be offered to a graduate student currently enrolled in an accredited Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy or Public Health program who will continue in Fall 2021.
