DESCRIPTION: The Engineering Society of Baltimore Education Foundation is offering scholarship loans and grants to graduating high school students that will be pursuing a degree in engineering in an ABET approved program. The scholarships are limited to students from the Baltimore Metropolitan area including Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties.

This year, a total of four $4,000.00, 4% interest loans and three one time grants are being offered. The loans are renewable each year providing the student is still enrolled in an ABET approved program, his/her grades are acceptable, and he/she is up to date on the interest payments. Interest only payments will be due quarterly prior to graduation and for one year thereafter. Amortized principal and interest payments will be due monthly for the next five years.

The three one time grants include a $3,000.00 Larry Lewis Scholarship, a $2,500.00 Engineering Society of Baltimore Scholarship and a $3,000.00 James A. Posey Centennial Scholarship, the latter earmarked preferably for a student enrolled in a mechanical or electrical engineering program.

The loans and grants are unrestricted and can be used for any purpose the student desires.
