DESCRIPTION: Created specifically for Maryland high school students who live in-state, the Association of Legal Administrator’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee hopes to identify a rising student from a Maryland public or private high school to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.


Rules and Guidelines for Submissions:

· In an essay, describe what diversity and inclusion means, and why it is important to you.

· One entry per person. The essay must have a minimum of 250 words and not to exceed 500 words.

· Essay should be typed double spaced in font size 12 points and include the author’s name, telephone number, email address, grade level and school name.

· Student must be in good standing with his/her school.

· Grades and attendance will also be considered, so please also submit a copy of your transcript.

· A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, mentor or work place supervisor must be submitted along with your essay.

· Student must be a Maryland resident and must attend a Maryland school.

· Entries will be judged on originality, creativity and expression of ideas.
