DESCRIPTION:The Elks Skilled Trades Scholarship is available to Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia residents who are planning to pursue vocational/technical training in an accredited post-secondary school.

Who may apply:

• Citizens of the United States.

• High School graduates who have graduated between the years 2016 and 2020.

• The program being pursued must be one that will culminate in a certificate, diploma, or associate degree, but not a bachelor’s degree. (Two-year transfer programs that will eventually culminate in a four- year degree are not eligible.)

The Scholarship:

• The application must be complete, including transcripts and letters of recommendation at the time of submission.

• The scholarship winners will receive their award for two years. One male and one female will receive $2,000 per year for two years. Four other males and four females will receive $1,000 per year for two years.

• The monies are sent directly to the school of enrollment and can be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies, as well as room and board if the student is living in on-campus housing. The award can only be used toward the expenses of the academic year for which it was intended and not for prior student debts.

• If the student is a second-year student of a two - year program, the award is only for one year.

• Applications are evaluated based on the information contained within the application.
